Child Safe

We are proud of the work we do to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. Our approach is proactive, aiming to prevent, identify, and mitigate risks related to child safety and wellbeing.

Key actions we take to uphold these standards include:

  • Ongoing Risk Monitoring: We regularly assess and review potential risks to child safety, ensuring our controls are effective and responsive.
  • Staff Training: All staff receive training and resources to help them recognise and respond to signs of harm or abuse.
  • Clear Response Procedures: We have well-defined protocols for handling complaints or concerns, ensuring timely and appropriate action.
  • Safe Recruitment Practices: Our hiring processes include thorough checks—verifying identity, qualifications, work history with children, and references that speak to a candidate’s suitability for working with young people.
  • Visible and Collaborative Learning Spaces: Our classrooms are designed for visibility and teamwork. Teachers and Education Support staff work together, with peer observation, mentoring, and coaching embedded in our culture.
  • Student Education and Empowerment: Through programs like Relationships and Sexuality Education, Consent Protocols, and the Talk Touch Triangle (TTT) we support students to understand their rights, protective behaviours, and the importance of informed consent.

We are committed to fostering a school environment where every student feels safe, respected, and supported.
